Gidleigh Barefoot Retreat 2025 - Round Up and Photos
Friday May 30 - Sunday June 1st

Well! I believe this years Gidleigh was a great success, given we had a courageous
new team and the hard act to follow of Karen and Lawrence.

We were all learning and improvising as we went along. Luckily we had the
experience of our facilitator Hamid, who thankfully is a Gidleigh veteran to help guide
the process and all the amazing movers, who made it happen on the day.
The Barefoot community really stepped up, for important tasks like! Finding the hot
water switch for the Shower! thanks Cliff. Dave did a sterling job of Campsite coordinator and Richard keeping an eye on the evening fire.

We danced, we moved, we were “moved", we laughed, we cried, we shook, we
roared, we stopped, we loved, we stamped, we ate very, very well! thank you to all
the cake and curry providers we had an exception selection of both this year. (Ps
Please claim back your expenses if you wish to).

Gidleigh is a special event that seems to keep a big light burning at the core of our
Barefoot community. This then spreads back out in many ripples.

Community’s heart is communication, and this event develops this art with all is
challenges. It takes time and patience to walk our talk of an inclusive community, I
for one found this years gidleigh particularly rich in understanding and developing
this quality.

Many thanks to the inspiring Team Penny, Clare, George, Angela, Hamid.

Any feedback you may have for next year is very welcome.

Much love to you all

The next Buddha will rather take the shape of a community, a community that practices understanding and loving kindness, a community that practices a way of conscious living. This may be the most important thing for Earth's survival." -- Thich Nhat Hanh
