About the facilitator:

Sarah Acton is the Jurassic Coast poet-in-residence, she led a six month season of creative poetry groups in Lyme Regis this year, and leads poetry walks along the East Devon coast. Sarah also runs a regular open mic nights in Sidmouth, and wandering open mic nights in West Dorset. She is a Magic Oxygen Literary Prize judge, and also judged the Sidmouth Literary Festival poetry competition. Sarah studied Professional Writing at Falmouth University, and oral traditions and myth at the Westcountry School of Myth. She is dedicated to further study and deep listening to the land to find her own path and uncivilise her poetic dreaming, aiming to be of service along the way.
Sarah is able to offer teaching through her experiences as a poet and human being, and has a passion for workshops that explore our creative capacity by opening up to the natural world, connecting with creativity in the everyday, and reconnecting with our authentic true voices.

"Many thanks for yesterday's poetry workshop. It was well organised and very enjoyable, and it far exceeded my expectations. What a splendid group of people turned up."

"I was struck by the friendliness of the group and am interested in its development towards the more public presentation of poetry. I sense that it might bring me out of my current state of creative isolation and perhaps kick start my rusting and faltering engine of creativity… I’ll stick with it, and you!"

"Amazing how much you fitted into two hours though! and so nourishing and inspiring - I loved it!"
